This may be a super late post, but whatever. At least it isn't Thanksgiving 2014 yet.
Dianne and I celebrated Thanksgiving with her family in Land O' Lakes, FL last year. We drove through New Orleans, and stopped for dinner. We were initially got directed to a well-known hole in the wall cajun restaurant, thanks to Yelp, and found out on the way there that it might not be an area we want to hang around late at night. So, we decided to search for better options and ended up in the French Quarter - Lower Garden District Area.
Cochon would be our food haven for the night, and boy did they not disappoint us. The food was excellent and on point!
The area was fairly peaceful and quiet... somewhat artsy based on our minimal stay.
After snapping a few photos, we headed back on the road.
We arrived in Land O' Lakes in the morning, just in time for breakfast and a quick nap. Later that evening was the feast. Food overload for thanksgiving day.
The following day, we visited the Tampa Zoo with Dianne's cousin, and her aunt's parents.
Later that day, we hung out at Filipiniana, Dianne's aunt's boba place.
On our last day, we spent the afternoon helping in the feeding of the homeless in downtown Tampa.
The whole trip was short and fun. Can't wait for this year's Thanksgiving trip! :)
