Lexington, TX - Somerville Lake
For Dianne's 27th birthday, we decided to stay in town, but ended up driving an hour or so for some barbecue and awesome lake view.
We tried our best to head off to Snow's BBQ early that Saturday. Knowing us, we were behind schedule and left maybe an hour later. Snow's BBQ is a well-known bbq stand in a small town called Lexington.
The main reason why we wanted to get there early was because the place only opens on Saturdays, and they usually run out of meat early. They only cook whatever meat they have, and close down when they run out. Luckily, there was a very short line when we arrived.
We ordered some brisket and ribs, and received some sauce in re-used empty water bottles (good idea as long as they cleaned it thoroughly).
We, then, drove to a nearby lake in Somerville, TX... some 45 minutes away. The weather was nice, considering it was in the middle of summer.
Some photos were in order... and lunch thereafter.
The view was definitely relaxing, so we hung out a bit after lunch. When the air started to warm up, and when the sun started to scorch up, we packed our stuff and headed home.
