We flew in to Newark Liberty International Airport, got a rental car and drove to Washington DC while passing through Philadelphia. I spent my birthday traveling, on the air and on the road.
Leaving Houston... It's always hard. |
New Jersey, baby! |
Being Catholic, I felt that it was my obligation to visit the church for my birthday. Normally, I would have liked to hear mass, but since we were on the road and we missed the early morning mass, the next best thing was to pray.
Just around the corner was this amazing italian sausage stand! Cash only, and no dine in.
After finishing the delicious and impossibly huge pizza bread sandwiches, we hit the road for the long drive to Washington, DC. Sure enough as we entered Philly, we were stuck in traffic. Nevertheless, we were compensated with a wonderful sunset.
When we got to our hotel in DC, we just left our stuff in the room and walked to Founding Farmers for my very late birthday dinner.
