Roaming Around Washington, DC

We probably picked the wrong day and time of year to visit the capital. It was cold and wet, since it rained for the most part of the day. With the limited time we had, we weren't able to visit a lot of places, especially the museums, but we made sure we stopped by the really famous and easily accessible ones.

First stop was Union Station. It's an impressive piece of architecture and engineering, considering that this was completed in 1907. The intricate design details are amazing. The front receiving area was under restoration when we visited, so I wasn't too keen on taking photos there.

I was mostly looking up due to the interesting ceiling designs.

Right next door is the National Postal Museum, so we decided to give it a quick visit.

 And even more ceilings.

After having lunch in Arlington, VA, we decided to stop by the Air Force Memorial on our way back to DC.

Then, it was back to DC to walk around the White House and Lincoln Memorial area.

I really wish we got to go to more places in DC, but we had to drive back to New Jersey and drop off the rental car. That same night, we rode the train from Newark Liberty International Airport to NYC and eventually to the apartment in Manhattan where we would stay for the rest of the week.
