Ricer Meet, 8-6 Edition

August 6, 2014
Rice Box Truck on Westheimer
Houston, TX

86 Day in Houston was a success, I would say. It was hosted by the Mayday Garage boys at the weekly Ricer Meet. There were a total of 8 AE86's in attendance, ranging from track/drift machines to street ricers.

With my unusual work schedule, I rarely get to attend the small cool car meets during the week. This was my third time at the Ricer Meet, and I must say this 86 Day meet was probably the most packed I have seen (again, I don't frequent this meet, so there could have been even more packed instances in the past).

It was really nice to see all these cars in their natural habitat - the streets, and not the show floor.

With the early evening sun setting, the cars were bathed in a very soft and warm light that just makes everything so beautiful.

The meet was not exclusive to AE86's, nor to FR-S's. There were cars of many makes that made an appearance.

It was a nice experience, and it was fun seeing people share common interests in their cars. The meet sure caused some traffic on Westheimer. I really wish I could make it to this meet every week, but I guess the charm is in the fact that I don't get to go frequently.
