CoCo
Houston, TX
Last Friday was our civil wedding anniversary. Dianne and I decided to celebrate this milestone by going out for breakfast and trying some place new. We scouted for places that are dog-friendly since we planned to take our dogter Leica with us. Fortunately, Houston has a good number of brunch places that allow dogs in their outdoor dining areas.
The lucky winner was CoCo in Midtown Houston. They offer a wide variety of crepes, waffles, paninis, and a couple of hot and cold beverage choices. Leica's approval was crucial, so we were glad she gave us the dangling tongue of approval and the flapping perky Dumbo ears when we got to the place.
I ordered the Breakfast Crepe, which has scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and Moroccan sausage. Dianne got herself the Moroccan Sausage Crepe, which has Moroccan sausage with caramelized onions, mozzarella, mushrooms, and topped with sun-dried tomato pesto sauce. We both ordered lattes to pair with the crepes. The crepes were not only very flavorful but the portions were also quite big.
Aside from our breakfast crepes, we ordered Creme Brulee Crepe as dessert but for to go. However, after seeing how enticing the crepe looked with the strawberries and chocolate sauce, we just had to have a taste. And just like our breakfast crepes, this did not disappoint.
Leica made sure she got her share too. And by the looks of her very clean plate, I bet she very much enjoyed her breakfast.
In a nutshell: the food was great, the ambiance was pretty cool, and the company was even better. We are definitely looking forward to coming back and trying out other items in CoCo's inviting menu.
