Roaming New York City - Day 1

Catching Up with Family and Friends

December 30, 2013
New York City, NY

I know these photos are already old. They were sitting on my hard drive for about seven months now. These are just some snaps from my birthday-New Year's Eve trip to New York City. This day in the pictures were mostly spent going around Manhattan buying gifts, and meeting family and friends.

Ricer Meet, 8-6 Edition

August 6, 2014
Rice Box Truck on Westheimer
Houston, TX

86 Day in Houston was a success, I would say. It was hosted by the Mayday Garage boys at the weekly Ricer Meet. There were a total of 8 AE86's in attendance, ranging from track/drift machines to street ricers.

Monthly Dose of Supercars

Supercar Saturdays
August 2, 2014
West Avenue at River Oaks
Houston, TX

The Houston Coffee and Cars has been on and off this year, and they seem to be having problems with the venue, so we had to go look for an alternative for our monthly dose of cars. We decided to go to the Supercar Saturdays because it is closer to home, and I've really wanted to go to one of their meets since around April. The venue was amazing, the weather was beautiful, and the people were abiding by the rules... and their was music, too.

It's Back!

Houston Coffee and Cars
July 5, 2014
Vintage Park
Houston, TX

After a 2-month hiatus, the Houston Coffee and Cars is back! Well, it wasn't as good as the last meet two months ago, but it was a start. This month's meet was greatly hyped since the very first time the organizers originally announced the first cancellation. The "extra" exotic cars that were supposed to be present today, as promised by the organizers, were not present at the meet. Sure, it was disappointing to say the least, but we all should continue supporting Houston Coffee and Cars in order for the meet to improve quality-wise. Hit the jump for more photos.

2014 Grand Prix of Houston

June 27-29, 2014
NRG Center
Houston, TX

The weather for the race weekend of the Grand Prix of Houston was insanely unpredictable. It was the usual bipolar Houston weather, which brought both rain and sun in the same day. Fortunately, we made it to the 2 days of the race weekend.

Roaming Around Washington, DC

We probably picked the wrong day and time of year to visit the capital. It was cold and wet, since it rained for the most part of the day. With the limited time we had, we weren't able to visit a lot of places, especially the museums, but we made sure we stopped by the really famous and easily accessible ones.

Traveling On My Birthday

We flew in to Newark Liberty International Airport, got a rental car and drove to Washington DC while passing through Philadelphia. I spent my birthday traveling, on the air and on the road.

Of Hope and Despair

During our stay in Tampa, FL for Thanksgiving Day, we got the chance to help in feeding some of the homeless people around the area. It was disheartening to see a totally different side of the city... that of homeless people. One would never have thought, from a tourist's perspective, that such a beautiful city would have such a problem.

Thanksgiving Trip of '13: To Tampa, FL

This may be a super late post, but whatever. At least it isn't Thanksgiving 2014 yet.

One Year Later

Finally, I have gone through the wedding photos and sped through them in Lightroom just to make a post in time for our first wedding anniversary. I still have to go back and sift through each one of them to make an album, which could very well be a second anniversary project.

A Day at the Lake

April 12, 2014
Alexander Deussen Park

This past weekend was beautiful, so we decided to head out to Lake Houston for breakfast. We hung around a bit and enjoyed the weather. Check out more photos, especially of Leica, after the jump.

Houston Coffee and Cars: Reevaluated and Revamped

Houston Coffee and Cars
April 5, 2014
Vintage Park, Houston, TX

After experiencing some uninspiring events at the recent months for Houston Coffee and Cars, the organizers decided that it was time to rethink the whole purpose for the first Saturday monthly meet. They had to go back to the very reason why Coffee and Cars started, and that is for car owners to share their masterpieces with the masses and for the masses to enjoy such works of art and engineering. Simply put: for the love of cars.

Anime Matsuri 2014

March 15, 2014

This year's Anime Matsuri is our very first anime convention. We hardly knew most of the characters that the attendees portrayed, but it was a fun and interesting experience for us.

Meet Leica

Leica is our newly adopted dog. We first met her on February 8 at the Poodle Rescue of Houston. We instantly fell in love with her and decided to adopt her in less than 30 minutes. Yes, she had that strong effect on us.

Late First Post of the Year

I know I have somewhat neglected my blog for quite some time now. I have some content to share, but I just haven't found the motivation to post anything. I guess I have just been too obsessed with instagram lately, and the instant gratification and feedback I get from sharing mobile phone photos on that platform.

I still haven't posted all of the photos from the Indy Car Series at the Grand Prix of Houston, either. Photos from the second race of the event is still sitting in my hard drive, waiting to be published. Also, my wife and I went on a little road trip to Florida for Thanksgiving, and we spent a week in Washington, DC and NYC for my birthday and New Year. Having said that, there should be some content coming your way. I just have to find some time and motivation to make the post.

So, I open this year with a photo of Downtown Houston.

A month late, but what the hell. I might as well just start posting. :)

One more thing. My brother and I started a new blog about 4 or 5 months ago. It is about cars, and most of my car photos will now be posted there. So if you have some extra time, please head over to Rolling Classics and show us some love. There are only 2 posts as of the moment. If you, or anybody you know, have a classic car, let us know and we might do a photo and video feature if it has piqued our interest.
